24 HOUR UPDATE
Things are shaping up for the 24 Hour. We have lots of staking to do if anyone wants to help this weekend at the Ridge. 10: am Saturday and Sunday. NO BIKES. Atv’s or side by sides only. Bring a large hammer.
Scott wrote out a course description this morning.
“The 2022 24hrs of Starvation Ridge course is laid out and the dots are connected
We still have to mark it up so everyone can find their way around.
Longest course in 10 years with 3 full loops. 1st loop will be in yellow, 2nd loop in white, 3rd loop will be in orange. We will use blue for marking in the tall wheatgrass and red/white ribbons for danger /caution for rocks and ditches.
WE WILL NOT BE RUNNING THE PUMPKIN PATCH OR THE ROCK GARDEN.
(I found some new rocks!!)
It was a good year for plants at the Ridge. The wheatgrass is 4 to 6 feet tall, the rushes in the pond are 6-8 feet tall, and the pussywillows behind the big pond are 8 feet plus.
And we will be running through all of them at some point.
We will be Running through some ponds to give the unwary a chance to sign the life jacket. I dug out and smoothed the mud pit. I may fill it so it is deeper.
There are more miles of disked up stubble than I have ever done before.
Some of the grass sections are slicker than all get out. Cause I have it and can do it.
It should be a great course.
Scott”
